About Church Potluck
Church Potluck is a media empire for a wide table of Christian curiosity. From podcasts to blogs to books, we serve up a faith that is intellectually earnest, theologically eclectic, and spiritually gracious. In an age when Christianity is too often portrayed and practiced as narrow or harsh, we offer spiritual nourishment that is generous, joyful, and deeply engaged with both tradition and the present moment. Like any true potluck, the feast is richer because many bring something different to the table—whether questions, stories, or insights from across the Christian spectrum and beyond.
About Dale
Dale McConkey strives to bring both a scholar’s mind and a pastor’s heart to Church Potluck. For over thirty years he has taught sociology, exploring how communities are formed and sustained, and for more than two decades he has also served as a United Methodist pastor and chaplain. That blend of classroom and congregation gives him a unique perspective: thoughtful, questioning, and rooted in lived experience. Dale’s writing, teaching, and podcasting all reflect his belief that faith is best approached with intellectual curiosity, open-hearted generosity, and a dash of lighthearted humor—much like a potluck itself.
